Why doesn’t my car charge at low or negative prices?

When we do not charge during low or negative EPEX Spot prices, it usually means that we can achieve a greater advantage on the imbalance market. We share the resulting savings with you in the form of a bonus. This bonus is high enough that it is always cheaper for you than if we had charged only at the lowest hourly prices.

If your desired departure time is further in the future and the EPEX Spot prices for that period are not yet known, we make a prediction of those prices. It may happen that our forecast shows lower prices in the future than the ones currently available. In that case, we postpone the charging of your car to achieve a better overall result.
