What do the different battery statuses mean?

Your battery status shows whether everything is working correctly and whether you need to take any action. Frank Energie continuously monitors the connection and availability of your battery.

What does “Connected” mean?

Your battery is connected and working normally. Frank Energie can control it automatically.

To decide when to charge or discharge your battery, we take into account factors such as current and expected electricity prices, your preferences, expected solar production and expected electricity consumption.

What does “Offline” mean?

We are currently not receiving any data from your battery. In most cases, this means your battery is no longer connected to the internet.

Common causes are:

• a temporary interruption to your Wi-Fi or internet connection;
• your battery was accidentally switched off;
• an outage at your internet service provider;
• an update to your battery's internal software that temporarily interrupts the connection.

What should I do if my battery is offline?

1. Check that your battery is switched on.
2. Check your internet connection. For example, check whether your other devices are still connected.
3. If necessary, restart your internet router or your battery.

Is everything switched on, but the status has remained “Offline” for more than 8 hours? Contact your installer. They can check your battery's connection.

As soon as the connection is restored, the data will automatically update in the app.

What does “Unavailable” mean?

Frank Energie is temporarily unable to control your battery. This does not mean that there is a problem with your battery.

Common causes are:

• the battery mode was changed in the manufacturer's app, for example to manual mode or self-consumption mode;
• smart control or VPP control is disabled;
• the battery was recently reset and the connection with Frank Energie has not yet been restored.

What should I do if my battery is unavailable?

Open the battery manufacturer's app and check that external or smart control is enabled. Depending on the brand, this setting may have a different name, such as “VPP”, “Grid Services” or “Third-party Control”.

What does “Maintenance” mean?

Your battery is automatically performing calibration or maintenance. This is a normal process set by the manufacturer and is used, for example, to check and correct the displayed state of charge.

During this process, Frank Energie is temporarily unable to control your battery.

What should I do during maintenance?

You do not need to do anything. The process ends automatically and usually takes less than 2 hours. Once it is complete, Frank Energie automatically resumes control.

What does “No recent data” mean?

We have not received any new data from your battery for more than 60 minutes. Your battery is probably still working, but the information shown in the app is no longer up to date.

We are aware that these delays can occur and work on a solution when they do. In most cases, this does not affect how your battery operates.

What should I do if there is no recent data?

You do not need to do anything. As soon as we receive data again, the status and figures in the app will update automatically.
